ARTISTIC LEADERSHIP
Children's Theatre Centre
In 1999 I founded CTC, an independent cultural organisation in Macedonia. CTC is recognized for it’s artistic achievements and is one of the few theatres in the Balkans actively working with a multi-lingual and inter-ethnic perspective when creating repertoire and outreach strategies. CTC produces performances for children, youth and adults. Many of the productions tour Macedonia and the region. CTC has also initiated significant developmental programmes such as;
PLAYWRIGHT’S WORKSHOP a 4-year project including playwrights from the Balkans and in cooperation with renowned dramaturges in Sweden. It developed and published 17 new written plays, 10 of them produced by CTC or in coproduction with theatres from the region.
THEATRE IN EDUCATION a 4-year project in cooperation with Het Waterhuis, Holland, CTC developed a special course on using theatre in education for students of the High Pedagogic School in Skopje.
STREET STORIES a 6-year program on work with underprivileged children and youth using theatre and dance and training the trainers program – for artists, teacher and actors.
THE SIGN IS LOUD a 3-year cooperation with Riksteatern/Tyst Teater. A regional project focusing on training in theatre, resulting in two unique regional festivals for deaf theatre from the Balkan-region.
My responsibilities at CTC were operational and strategic, from artistic leadership to fundraising and developmental work. Some of CTCs funding bodies were Sida, SDC, USAID, UNICEF, NORAD, FOSIM, The Ministry of Culture of Macedonia, The city of Skopje and the local municipalities. I am still at the board of executives of CTC. for more info press here
